Michael Scott Friedman
A lifelong Marylander, Michael has extensive litigation experience, primarily representing the State of Maryland. He spent the majority of his career with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, including more than eight years as Deputy Counsel to the Maryland Department of Budget and Management (DBM). As Deputy Counsel, Michael managed the day to day administrative operations of DBM, while handling his own case load representing the State’s Central Collection Unit (CCU), a unit within DBM that collects most delinquent debts owed to the State and its agencies. Michael has litigated cases in courts in every Maryland jurisdiction, the Office of Administrative Hearings, as well as limited appearances in federal courts. While in law school, Michael interned and clerked for the OAG in the Courts & Administration Unit & Criminal Appeals Division.
Michael is admitted to practice law in Maryland State and Federal Courts as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
